Now Asbestos Fiber are not recommended to used for making various products due to its harmfulness to workers , users and environment.
Our Non Asbestos Fiber ( including Steel Fiber , ARG Fiber , PVA Fiber , Mineral Fiber , Ceramic Fiber , Aramid Fiber , PP Fiber, Carbon Fiber, Glass Fiber , Cellulose Fiber and Basalt Fiber ) are commonly used to replace Asbestos Fiber for making various products including followings :
(1) FRICTION MATERIALS
Presently 3 commonly friction formulations are as follows :
a ) Semi Metallic Friction Formulation
A Semi Metallic Brake Pads consist of lining that use
- Steel Fiber ( instead of Non Asbestos Fibers ) as the reinforcing fiber
- Sponge Iron Powder and others
Most Semi Metallic Friction Materials normally contain > 60% Steel Materials by weight .
The Semi Metallic Brake Pads provide better high temperature performance and wear characteristics than conventional non-asbestos linings.
b ) Non Asbestos Friction Formulation
Non-Asbestos ( NAO ) Brake Pads consist of Organic Fiber which are used to reinforce the friction materials and provide strength to pads .
NAO Brake Pads were designed to replace harmful asbestos linings which were popular on pre-FWD vehicle
c ) Ceramic Friction Formulation
Ceramic Brake Pads have gained in popularity over the past several years .
Ceramic Brake Pads contain no Steel Fiber , instead uses Ceramic Fiber and other non metallic / non asbestos fibers to manage heat dissipation .
Ceramic Brake Pads have 3 primary advantages :
- stable under a wide range of temperature , provide more consistent performance
- minimize harmonic pad vibration , a leading cause of squeal, to reduce noise
- to be less abrasive , which reduce brake rotor wear , a primary cause of wheel dust
(2) GRC LIGHT POLE
Presently ( besides steel reinforced concrete light poles ) light pole are produced with high performance , light weight glass reinforced concrete GRC .
GRC Light Poles have superior strength to weight qualities ,lower cost, high performance , lower maintenance , long life and greenest second only to traditional wood utility products .
GRC Light Poles combine the advantage of reinforcing capabilities of composites and the compress strengths of concrete into new generation and category of poles that meet governing standard of the utility pole industry .
(3) Fiber Cement Asbestos Free Products
Presently PVA Fibers and other NON-Asbestos Fibers are commonly used mainly as reinforcement ( to replace harmful asbestos fiber ) especially in corrugated roofing sheets and other ( fiber cement asbestos free ) products .
The essential characteristics of these fibers are to absorb and distribute throughout the entire length and thus attenuate tensions that are created in materials by external load applied to the object .
In the production of Corrugated Roofing Sheets , PVA Fiber is the one commonly used to replace asbestos fiber .
Corrugated Roofing Sheets are subjected to extreme heat in summer and cold in winter .
The expansion of roofing sheets are huge and ( after many testing ) so far only PVA Fiber can withstand to these traction better than other non asbestos fibers .
